The History of Mountain States Electronics

Our History

Mountain States Electronics was originally called Pioneer Electronics and was located in downtown Fort Collins from 1960 to 1969. For a time, it was located at 200 Jefferson St. in the historic Union Pacific Train Station. In 1969 the business was moved to 300 E. Mountain. In 1975 Pioneer Electronics was purchased by Bill Barnes and the name was changed to the current Mountain States Electronics (MSE).

In 1981 MSE was relocated to 2107 S. College Ave. In 1983 MSE was purchased by Don Delitz whose primary focus was to supply Television parts to TV Repair shops located in Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming, and Western Nebraska.

In 1999 MSE was purchased by Brett Sharp who continued to supply TV repair parts and expanded as a DirecTV Sales and installation service until 2015 when the leased building was scheduled for demolition.

In May of 2015 just as the building was to be demolished MSE was purchased by Don Dieckman who also owned Collins Communications. At that time MSE was relocated to 101 N. Link Lane #3 in the Fort Collins Business Center.

After moving to the new location, the product line was expanded to offer a more diverse line of Industrial items such as Power Supplies, Relays, Switches, Fuses and Fans. Also added were the versatile Arduino development boards and supporting Sheilds as well as Voltage Regulators, Solar Components and Automotive support parts.

Steve Woodard our onsite Parts Guru has been with MSE since 1991 and continues to provide a wealth of knowledge of Electronic Parts.
